As part of the Robotized Floor Riveting project the current state of the floor rivets as well as the necessary tools in the Truck & Trailer segment are supposed to be further developed. Beforehand the project a new rivet type has already been designed and a first hand tool has been developed. In order to increase the level of automation significantly, concepts for an autonomous on-trailer riveting process are developed and a market research of commercially available AGVs is done to be able to find the best solution for the integration of the riveting tool to make it a completely autonomous system.

Impact (expected)
The voucher work is expected to help GESIPA extending their product portfolio with a fully autonomous riveting robot system for curtainsider assembly lines. The development of several autonomous navigation concepts combined with a suitable, commercially available AGV will provide GESIPA the necessary tools to find a solution for the integration of their semi-automatized floor riveting tool. A fully autonomous riveting tool for curtainsider will support GESIPA to prevail its market leading position in riveting equipment.
